Over 50 kids braved soaring temperatures over the weekend to participate in Todd Bates' Fourth Annual Football Skills Camp that was held in Heflin.

Eight former University of Alabama and Jacksonville State University players led the kids, ages 6-18, through a series of skills, many new ones that Bates picked up at LSU, the University of Tennessee and at the University of Alabama.

"I try to bring back the most up-to-date drills," Bate said. "I've learned so much new stuff and new innovations so the kids will know what the colleges are doing even before the college coaches know."
