Everyone who attended our Women’s Banquet Saturday evening had an enjoyable time. Great food, warm fellowship and a very interesting program provided by Alice Duckett. Happy Mother’s Day to all Mothers.

Happy birthday to Kirsten Daniel. Our Homecoming will be May 23 beginning at 10:15.

Services will be followed by lunch and then singing featuring Enlisted. Don’t forget our GAs are collecting supplies for the Cleburne Baptist Association.

They are asking for office supplies, kitchen and fellowship supplies. GAs will be collecting items throughout May.

Pastor Donald’s message came from James 5:13-18. We are to pray for one another, especially the sick.

There is power in prayer! Elijah prayed and there was no rain for three and a half years. Do you feel like sometimes your prayers go unanswered? Are you praying asking for “stuff” or are you praising God, praying for others and asking God for His leadership in your life?

Sometimes God says no to our request because He knows what is best for us. God knows the request we have made is not in our best interest. Prayer is communication with God.

Sometimes we need to just listed for what He has to say to us. “...the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” May 6th is National Day of Prayer.
