We would like to wish Nellie Moran a happy birthday this week. She's 87 years young and still loves God.
Brother Charles' message was from Luke, chapter 22. The greatest love of all was the love Jesus had for us. He could have given up before He was nailed to the cross, but He chose to do His Father's will and sacrifice Himself for us. There is no greater love than this. If we follow the example of Jesus, we will have the desire to show this great love for Him and for others.
During the evening service the youth group blessed us with songs and dramas. Our youth are such a blessing and we appreciate the effort they put forth to glorify God in all they do.
The evening message was a simple message from Jeremiah, chapter 17. Trust God. Trust Him with everything you do and everything you have. Trust Him, and He will continue to bless you.
We will be very busy this coming month with a singing on the evening of May 16, Homecoming on June 6, and Vacation Bible School coming up in July.
Please keep in prayer: Kevin Kiker, Jamie Benefield, Jason Moore, Granny Turner, the sick and the lost, and our church. Pray for our youth group as they prepare for their trip. Also keep Mark Andrew Kelley in your prayers as he heads to serve his country in Iraq.
We invite you to visit us at Verdon Chapel.
