Mark A. Vise of Heflin, agent for Alfa Insurance, received the Distinguished Service Award for 2009 during the company's annual awards ceremony in Birmingham.

The ceremony held February 16, recognized Alfa's best agents and managers for their dedicated work and commitment to policyholders, Vise has served as an Alfa agent for 26 years and serves policyholders at Giles St in Helfin. He represents the company's full line of insurance for auto home, life and business.

A native of Cleburne County, Vise is married to the former Janice Sanford of Piedmont and they have two grandchildren, Anderson and Ian. They attend Heflin Baptist Church.

Alfa and its affiliates provide insurance and other financial services to more than 1 million customers in 12 states.
