4-H 2009 Christmas Contest winners announced

With the largest showing of woodworking projects since 2006, Cleburne 4-H'ers submitted 32 Footstools for judging! Sewing projects included: one Apron project, 3 placemat totebags and a whopping 30 Christmas stockings!

Congratulations to our participants and our winners and thank you to all the parents, grandparents and special helpers that worked on these projects with the 4-H students:

Apron:

Kaylin Thacker of Ms. Campbell's class at Pleasant Grove Elementary.

Totebags:

1st Place in County — Madison Morris or Pleasant Grove Elementary.

2nd place in County goes to Ana Simmons of Ranburne and 3rd Place to Makaelah Evans — most impressive use of pockets! Makaelah is also from Ranburne.

Woodworking Footstool Projects:

1st Place in County goes to Lacey Smith from Ms. Kribbs' class in Ranburne. 2nd Place in County is held by Hannah Braden of Ms. Lee's class at Cleburne Elementary. 3rd Place goes to Peyton Ealey who is in Yakely's class in Ranburne.

Most Creative Footstool award goes to Emily Thomas of Cleburne Elementary (Mitchell) and Most Rustic Footstool goes to Rikki Pruett of Ms. Prater's class in Pleasant Grove.

Christmas Stocking Winners:

1st in County: Gabby Hendrix, RES — Gaither

2nd in County: Madeline Brown, Pleasant Grove — Prater

3rd in County: Karissa Skinner, FES — Ligon
