Ernest Earl McCormick, 81, passed away on Monday, January 4, 2010. Funeral service for Mr. McCormick were January 6, 2010, at Dryden Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Larry Riddle and the Rev. Arlin Ashley officiating. Burial followed at Heflin City Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Ray Taylor, Brian McCormick, Keith McCormick, Michael Thompson, Garry Thompson, and Anthony Thompson.

Survivors include his wife, Catherine McCormick, of Heflin; daughter, Cathy (Jack) McComb, of Heflin; son, Ernest E. McCormick Jr., of Heflin; sister, Eunice Thompson, of Muscadine and brother, Curtis Leon McCormick, of Heflin; six grandchildren and five great — grandchildren. Mr. McCormick, a life long resident of Cleburne County was a retired Brick Mason of 39 years. He worked for D&L in Carrollton, Georgia and returned to Brick Masonry for five years. He then worked for the U.S. Forestry Services. He attended The Church of God and was loved by many and will be missed. The family extends a special thanks to his caregivers.
