Ammie Cobb Smith, 81, passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2009, at Stringfellow Hospital. Funeral service for Mrs. Smith were January 2, 2010, at Bethel Baptist North Church with the Rev. Kenneth Forsyth and the Rev. Billy Taylor officiating. Burial followed at the church cemetery with Dryden Funeral Home in charge.

Pallbearers were Chris Garrett, Jerry Wayne Roberts, Jody Smith, James Garrett, Mike Fish and Maverick Pritchett.

Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Warren, of Delta and Jane (James) Garrett, of Oxford; son, Kenneth (Donna) Smith, Munford; three brothers, Gay Cobb, of Heflin, Russell Cobb, of Saks and Jimmy Cobb, of Heflin; grandchildren, Chris Garrett, Terry Roberts, Kelly Fish and Jody Smith; four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Smith was a native of Delta and a member of Bethel North Baptist Church. She was a retired seamstress from Sewell Manufacturing in Heflin. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Isaiah "Ike" Smith and a daughter, Becky Roberts and a son-in-law, Larry Warren; one sister and six brothers.
