Early in October the Alabama State Parks began a seven week promotion celebrating their 70th year.
The promotion consists of seven birthday parties, for seven weeks, at seven different state parks, with a finale at Lake Guntersville State Park on November 20th.
Each park hosting a party was selected because of some uniqueness regarding their park.
The birthday party wagon rolls into Cheaha State Park tonight.
Cheaha State Park was selected because it is the oldest continuously operated state park in Alabama.
It is also the highest point in the state. The party will be held at the Bald Rock Lodge from 6-9 p.m.
The Jonathan East Band will be providing the entertainment. You can also rent a room at the lodge today and receive a 30% discount, which means you just pay 70% of the normal summertime rate. It promises to be a fun-filled evening for those that love good food, cake and ice cream and good music!
