A Few Reminders

1. The CCHS class of 1979 will have their 30th reunion on this Saturday October 24 at the Heflin Art Center. To learn more details, contact Marty Boyles at 238-2154. (For more class contacts see last weeks article)

2. The first of two gourmet cooking classes will begin tonight at the Art Center. Tonight's offering is Italian cooking. Call 463-2290 for more details.

3. The committees working on the Heflin Hometown Homecoming (May of 2010) are seeking the help of citizens ... especially those who have been living here for quite some time. We will be asking for 'the loan" of pictures as well as items from Heflin's past that can be displayed in a museum type setting. I realize that this is 7 months away, but we need to get our message out now! I will be giving you more information as times goes by! This is going to be a spectacular weekend!

Venting

At the present time, there are many serious in our nation and World. Issues to which we should all give our thought and attention. Here are 3 that DO NOT fall into that category and I am sick of hearing about them!

1. Balloon Boy! I have to admit, I bought into that one .. until I saw the Larry King interview with the family! They took us all for a ride.

2. Jessica Simpson and Brittany Spears issues with their weight. Does it really matter and who really cares? They are healthy and both have a job!

3. Jon and Kate ... Work out your problems in private. Move on with out an audience. Hello! What about the children?

Bye! Until Next week ... remember ... I am a firm believer in eating your fruits and vegetables to stay healthy. Personally, my favorite method is through eating apple pie, zucchini bread, and carrot cake ... and possibly ... strawberry shortcake.
