Police Thursday were investigating a shooting in which a suspect fired about six times into an Anniston home early Thursday morning.

No one was injured in the incident, which took place from 12:15 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. at a home on the 1600 block of Christine Drive, according to a police report.

The victim, 33, told police that someone knocked on his door around the time of the shooting, according to Anniston police Sgt. Chris Sparks.

When the victim didn’t answer the door, the suspect walked out to the street and fired into the home, the sergeant said.

The bullets broke one of the the victim’s front windows, causing $50 worth of damage, according to a police report.

Sparks said officers managed to recover shell casings from the front of the residence. Sparks said he did not know how many shell casings were found or if they were from the gun involved in the shooting.

Investigators were still trying to identify a suspect as of Thursday morning, the sergeant said. Any suspect could face felony charges of discharging a firearm into a building, according to a police report.
