NE Regional: Woodville grabs first win in regional

Woodville 61, Cedar Bluff 43: Woodville dispatched Cedar Bluff in a Class 1A semifinal at the Northeast Regional with a strong defense, limiting its opponent to 25.8 percent shooting.

It marked the first win at the Northeast Regional for Woodville, which made its first appearance a year ago and fell in the semifinals. Woodville will face Skyline in Friday's regional finals at 3:40 p.m.

Caytie Dixson led Woodville (22-8) with 19 points, three rebounds, three steals and three assists. Kelsi Sisk had two points, six assists and a game-high 15 rebounds, including nine in the second half.

Woodville sophomore point guard Sara Baugh, who stands only 4-foot-8, had eight points, six rebounds and a pair of assists.

Cedar Bluff (14-16) got 18 points and 11 rebounds from Kathleen McGinnis, and 11 points from Kerstin Price.
