Predictions of severe weather are leading high school sports teams to move up start times for tonight’s games.

The Class 3A, Area 10 boys tournament championship was the first to be moved. Weaver coach Daryl Hamby said last night that the Bearcats will play Saks at 5 p.m. at home, rather than the original 7.

This morning, Anniston boys coach Schuessler Ware said the Bulldogs will move tonight’s start time to 4 p.m. The Anniston girls play Munford in the Class 4A, Area 10 tournament championship and the boys will follow at 5:30.

Wellborn’s boys team will now travel to Ranburne for a 5 p.m. tip-off in Class 2A, Area 10 play.

The winners of tonight's games are set to host sub-regional games later this week, while the losers will travel. Girls are scheduled to play on Thursday and the boys on Friday.

In Class 1A, Area 12 play, Ragland will tip off at Sacred Heart at 5 p.m.

In Class 4A, Area 11, Alexandria still is set to travel to Hokes Bluff for a 6 p.m. game.
