Police Thursday were investigating a burglary in which $1,500 worth of wires, tools and building materials were stolen from an Anniston home Wednesday.

Anniston police Sgt. Chris Sparks said officers have been called to the residence, on the 900 block of Lloyd Street, several times in the last two months. He said investigators can’t be sure if the items reported stolen Wednesday were taken during the most recent burglary or during previous incidents.

The items included welding wire, electrical wire, audio cable, a tub of roof coating, a drafting table and $600 in antique tools.

According to a police report, the latest burglary occurred around 1 a.m. Wednesday morning, and the suspect forced his way in through a door.

The suspect could face a third-degree burglary charge, a felony, according to the report.
