Lauren Ashley Wortham and Dr. William W. Rayfield III, were married Sept. 7, 2013, at The Chapel at Children’s Harbor in Alexander City. The Rev. Ed Halsey performed the ceremony. Music was provided by Ann Caldwell on piano and Lindsay Patten, vocals.

Parents of the bride are Hilda and Wayne Wortham of Wedowee.

Parents of the groom are Lynda and Ren Wheeler of Cropwell and Jennie and Larry Rayfield of Hoover.

Grandparents of the bride are Zelma Wortham of Wedowee and the late Lee Wortham and the late Margaret Sessions Sutton, formerly of Wadley.

Grandparents of the groom are Martha Hammonds of Sylacauga and the late Bruce Hammonds; the late Donald Nunley and the late Mr. and Mrs. William W. Rayfield Jr., all formerly of Sylacauga.

Bridesmaids were Carrie Coe Gay, Lindsay Meredith Nelson, Tara Rayfield Partridge and Melanie Harlin Tinney.

The matrons of honor were Kara Huddleston Hare and Molly Cotney Reeves.

Groomsmen were Andy Nelson, Chad Robertson, Ren Wheeler and Reid Wortham.

The best men were Larry Rayfield and Chad Rayfield.

The reception was held at the Spring House Restaurant.

The bride wore a chia silk taffeta gown by Italian designer Ines Di Santo. The fitted dress had ornate jeweled straps that framed the bodice and encircled the plunging back. The skirt flared at the knee and swept to a full chapel train. She carried a bouquet of a mixture of cream roses, rinacula, hydrangeas and stephanotis.

After a trip to Riviera Maya, Mexico, the couple resides in Newell.
