As an adult, I have always been fascinated by this event. Usually when a story like this plays out over time, questions are answered. But in the assassination of President Kennedy the opposite is true; there are more questions than answers. Did Lee Harvey Oswald act alone, did Jack Ruby kill him to keep him quiet? Was he killed because of the failed attempts to kill Fidel Castro? Was Russia involved? Was it Robert Kennedy’s fault? Was it the mob because of Kennedy’s mob girlfriend? Did Lyndon Johnson play a part in his death? Were there shooters on the grassy knoll? Was Oswald a good enough shot to have pulled this off on his own?
And it just goes on and on. I never miss an opportunity to watch anything I can about this event in American history. Why am I so interested? Was it because on those four days as a young teenager I was forced to watch as it unfolded before me? I just don’t know.
