Even the New York Times is jumping on the sports fashion bandwagon these days.

If you're not an obsessive fan of football or one of the other sports, you may not realize how much emphasis some fans -- and most players -- put on the way the teams look. Uniform manufacturers certainly pay attention. Blogs such as this one are dedicated to this issue.

Earlier this fall, The Star looked at the fashion of Calhoun County's high school football teams. (A second story was included, as well.)

Today, The New York Times jumped into the fray, writing that "in recent years, locker rooms have become more like Hollywood wardrobes, crammed with multiple uniform options in a riot of colors and fabrics, most produced in the workshops of the rival Houses of Nike, Under Armour and Adidas."
