A woman was taken to Regional Medical Center with minor injuries Monday night following a three-car accident on Alabama 21.

Weaver Fire Chief Brian Bunn said witnesses told him that the cause of the accident was a cabinet that was in the middle of the road.

Bunn said witnesses told him that the piece of furniture was in the inside lane going northbound towards Jacksonville. Bunn said he did not know why or how the cabinet got on the road.

Bunn said witnesses told him that the driver of a pickup truck slowed down to look at the cabinet and two cars behind him, a Volkswagen Beetle, driven by the woman, and an SUV, driven by a man, crashed into him.

Bunn said the drivers of the other two vehicles were not injured in the accident and the woman was taken to RMC with only minor injuries.
