Oxford wins boys, girls Calhoun County cross country meets

The Oxford Yellow Jackets won both the boys and girls Calhoun County cross country meets at Oxford Lake on Thursday.

For the girls, Ohatchee finished second and Jacksonville came in third.

Ohatchee’s Abby Nunnelly finished first with a time of 20:07. For Pleasant Valley, Rachel Faucett came in fourth with a time of 21:43, and Juliana Ballew was 11th with a time of 23:04.

Pleasant Valley’s boys finished second overall and were led by Matthew Bonds, who finished first with a time of 17:03. Davis Glass also recorded a top 10 finish, coming in sixth with a time of 18:54.

Other finishers from Pleasant Valley included: Caleb Kirk (14th, 19:44), Tucker Vernon (15th, 19:49), Daniel Gladen (17th, 20:11), Isaiah Rodriguez (22nd, 20:29), Tyler Peck (24th, 20:50), Balin Littlejohn (29th, 21:18), Riley Vernon (31st, 21:39), Nick Robbins (32nd, 21:54) and Derek Moore (47th, 25:29).

Pleasant Valley travels to Scottsboro for Sectionals on Oct. 31.
