The son of a high school coach and brother of LSU backup quarterback Stephen Rivers, Phillip Rivers has the Chargers at 3-3 so far this season. Considering they have Jacksonville this week, we might as well go ahead and make it 4-3.
The three wins have come against three interesting opponents. His Chargers just beat the Indianapolis Colts, cutting off the gushing over the Colts’ Andrew Luck.
Rivers and the Chargers also pleased America by joining the line of teams beating the Dallas Cowboys, cutting off the gushing over the ‘Boys. And in the second game of the year, they beat the Eagles, cutting off the gushing over the Eagles and their magical Chip Kelly offense.
So, in other words, if we want folks to shut up about somebody, at least temporarily, we need to make sure they play Rivers and the Chargers.
If you’re tired of Peyton Manning and the Broncos, consider this – the Chargers play them twice this year. Or just stop listening to talk radio. That might be a better solution.
