Consider this an all-hands bulletin for help in identifying information about a photograph that may have appeared in The Star, or perhaps another Alabama newspaper, nearly 100 years ago.
This morning, John A. Roberts of Madison contacted The Star asked for help with a photo. The photo carries a caption, "Shades of Civil War days," and the names of the men in the shot. Two are Roberts' family members, John Wesley Jennings and Andrew Jackson Jennings.
Roberts saw the photo hanging in a Piedmont barber shop in 1999, but he had no idea when the photo was originally published or what newspaper ran it. Here at The Star, we have microfilm copies of papers going back to 1900, but there is no way to electronically search for specific photographs.
So, help! It's a longshot, but take a look at the photo, and if you have any information about it, Roberts would love to hear from you. His email is email@example.com.-- Phillip Tutor
