Piedmont police charged a man with robbing a local fast-food restaurant early this morning.

Parris Clayton Marshall II, 31, of Piedmont, was charged with first-degree robbery, a felony, according to a press release sent by Piedmont police Chief Steven Tidwell.

Marshall reportedly went to Jack’s on U.S. 278 in Piedmont at 4:30 a.m. Friday armed with a handgun, the release said. Marshall demanded money from a Jack’s employee, was given an undisclosed amount of cash and fled on foot, the release stated.

Piedmont police apprehended Marshall on Friday, the release said.

Marshall was in the Calhoun County Jail this evening. Online court records show bond is set at $60,000. A court appearance is scheduled for July 22.
