TALLADEGA -- Trevor Bayne's day ended before any other driver's at the Aaron's 499 today, and he said he's surprised he didn't take anyone else with him.

His engine blew on the 22nd lap, and he said he didn't have any warning.

"I got to Turn 1, and it let go," Bayne said. "I'm surprised the whole field didn't crash with as much oil that's pouring out of this thing in the garage, but we were luck to hold onto it and keep this car in one piece because it's going to be fast at Daytona in July."

Bayne said the engine problem marked another piece of bad luck for the weekend.

"It's unfortunate because we were running in the top 10 the whole time," Bayne said. "I dropped back to 30th and came right back to fifth."
