A 59-year-old Anniston man was reportedly stabbed in the arm Tuesday night during an argument with a woman.

The victim was near 15th Street and Cobb Avenue between 9:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. when he had a disagreement with a woman he was acquainted with, according to Anniston police Sgt. Chris Sparks.

During the altercation, Sparks said, the woman pulled a small knife from her purse and stabbed the man twice in the right arm. The victim fled the area and called police, Sparks said.

The man was taken to Regional Medical Center for treatment of minor cuts, the sergeant said.

Sparks said Wednesday morning that police were still searching for the woman.

The suspect could be charged with second-degree assault, a felony, according to a police report.
