A fire that broke out mid-afternoon Saturday consumed an old building belonging to the local ServiceMaster office, address 2 W. Third Street. Smoke from the burning structure can be seen rising from behind an uninvolved larger brick structure to the right. (Anniston Star photo by Trent Penny)

Job-seekers, wanna be a firefighter? If so, then take a look at what the Anniston Fire Department had to do Saturday evening.

Whether in small towns or large cities, firefighters are worth every penny — and more — when their services are needed.
Anniston’s firefighters earned their keep this weekend. We’re lucky to have them.
