A 34-year-old man told police he and his 44-year-old wife had an argument Friday between 2 p.m. and 2:25 p.m. at their home on the 300 block of North Hillman Street, Anniston police Sgt. Chris Sparks said. The husband alleges that during the argument his wife hit him with her fists and cut the top of his left hand with a pocketknife, Sparks said.
The wife told police that during the argument her husband shoved her against a door and began throwing items around the home, the sergeant said. Sparks said the wife reported her husband was bleeding when he walked back into the room.
The man was taken to Regional Medical Center for treatment and is expected to recover from his injuries, Sparks said. The woman suffered several bruises, but refused medical treatment, according to police.
No one was arrested at the scene, Sparks said.
“We’re investigating to determine which party was the primary aggressor,” Sparks said.
