Charles Hubbard’s Hammond B3 organ, which was profiled in Sunday’s Star, is a legend in our midst. Its keys have been played by Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Greg Allman. It has graced the same stages as Al Green, The Beach Boys, James Brown, Buddy Miles, Steppenwolf and Three Dog Night.
If Calhoun County had its own music Hall of Fame, Hubbard’s B3 would be among its inaugural class of inductees.
Like fine wines, the best musical instruments sound sweeter as they age. And Hubbard’s B3 certainly is a sound to behold.
