Events at the Public Library of Anniston-Calhoun County include:

• Saturday, all day, Lego League. Make project of the day or make your own Lego creation. Different Lego sizes will be available for all ages.

• Saturday, teen movie at noon, Men in Black 3.

• Monday, 10 a.m., story time, Santa Paws.

• Monday, movies at noon, The Odd Life of Timothy Green; Dec. 17, Christmas in Connecticut.

• Monday, 4 p.m., Santa stories by the seashore. Bring your camera and take free pictures with Santa. Enjoy stories read by Santa and make a craft. Everything is free in this event.

• Monday, library closes at 4:30 p.m. to prepare for City of Anniston’s Story Book Christmas parade. View the Library bookmobile at 6:30 p.m., Noble Street between 9th and 15th Streets.

• Thursday, 4 p.m., children’s movie, Ice Age Continental Drift.

• Dec. 18, 10 a.m., story time, Merry Christmas.

The Alabama Shutterbugs, a new club for photographers of all skill levels, will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday (each month) in the Noble Building, suite 100. Anyone interested in photography is welcome to attend. Call 256-236-8488 for more information.

The Choccolocco Heritage Society’s annual community-wide Christmas tree lighting and party will be Tuesday. The White Plains High School band will perform at 5:30 p.m. followed by more music groups. The party will be held inside the local museum at the Little White School House. Snacks, food and hot drinks will be served. Santa Claus will be on hand to greet children. A “Bring it On!” cheerleading, dance line and all-star competition will begin at 9 a.m. Dec. 15 at Grace Baptist Church gymnasium in Oxford. The event is sponsored by J. Morgan Events and is an opportunity for young, underprivileged girls to come together and perform their various routines in front of parents, spectators, judges and others.
