State cross country: Nunnelly helps Ohatchee to sixth-place finish

OAKVILLE -- Ohatchee seventh-grader Abby Nunnelly finished eighth in the Class 1A-2A girls state cross country championship meet Saturday, finishing the course in 19 minutes, 47.70 seconds. She helped her team to a sixth-place finish.

Teammate Victoria McRaney was 35th, while Ashley Leath was 81st and Leighton Sparks 82nd. Pleasant Valley's Rachel Faucett, who qualified as an individual although her team didn't, was 70th.

In the 1A-2A boys division, Pleasant Valley was 10th, led by Matthew Bonds, who placed 11th in 17:24.70. Davis Glass finished 63rd, while Caleb Kirk was 85th and Isaiah Rodriguez was 86th.

Ohatchee's Jimmy Wilson, running as an individual, was 32nd.

In Class 4A girls, Jacksonville was eighth, paced Mary Shelton in 43rd place in 22:25.13. Rebecca Hearn was 61st, and Elizabeth keefer was 62nd. In the 4A boys race, Brian Pryoer was 64th.

Oxford's girls finished 13th in 6A, as Lexie Delain was 100th in 21:26.80. Toni Coley was 113th.

Oxford's Trace Hilburn was 139th in the 6A boys race, running as an individual.
