I would like to take this opportunity to ask the people of Anniston to support One City One Vision by attending the public workshops on Sept. 12, 17 and 19. This is a means by which the residents of Anniston can voice themselves and be heard about the direction of their city.

I am involved with One City One Vision because I care about what the city does for our children, especially in the area of the schools and the school system. The barometer of a city will be determined by several factors, one of which is its public school system. Our children deserve a city with a united vision toward success for all children and their education, regardless of where they live or their socio-economic status.

The potential for Anniston’s One City One Vision initiative to succeed lies with those who believe in the success of our children. Our various communities — business, civic, fraternal and religious — have an important function to make sure that our children reach their full potential. The beginning of any movement comes when people unite for a common purpose and vision.
