According to Anniston police Capt. Allen George, the victim noticed items missing from his home on the 1200 block of Christine Avenue between June 21 and June 22 but did not report the crime to police.
“He said he wanted to wait until Wednesday to make sure nothing else went missing,” the captain said.
According to George, the victim filed two separate reports Wednesday after other belongings went missing at his other residence on the 2800 block of Noble Street.
The victim left all of the stolen items in unsecured sheds and on the outside of the homes, the captain said.
George said the victim’s neighbor on Noble Street saw two young men leaving the property with items he believed belonged to the victim on Wednesday.
The total cost of the missing items is $9,565, according to police reports.
George said there is no way to tell if the two crimes were related but said they probably were not because of the distance between them.
There were no suspects this morning, George said. According to police reports, any suspects could face charges of second-degree theft and third-degree burglary, both felonies.
