“What have I done to make someone want to come closer to the Lord?” was the question Brother Tracy Mayfield asked as we read from Matthew 5:14-16. Don’t miss the opportunities to witness your faith to others. Seize the moment while you can. To allow your light to shine, first you have to possess the light. We have all been given a life to serve God. You have to know the Lord to share his light. Romans 5:5 tells us that if Jesus is in us, we have the power of the Holy Spirit in us. We are not complete without Jesus! We all make mistakes but we keep trying. We don’t make the changes in our lives – God does. We are all changed by one Spirit. God wants us to work for Him and do great things for Him. Being saved doesn’t eliminate your sinful nature. You will still do mean things and say hurtful things. We change one day at a time. God will convict us when we fail. You have to be willing to turn your light on. But sometimes we don’t want to live according to God’s instructions. Your light becomes brighter when there is greater darkness. Your light makes a bigger difference in the darkness. Give thanks to God and glorify Him. Lift up God in all you do. Darkness only exists when light isn’t there. Darkness can’t put out the light. Only you and Satan can keep your light from shining. Let it shine!
