On behalf of the numerous volunteers who have been working the past several months to host this weekend’s Noble Street Festival, I would like to invite everyone to Anniston’s Noble Street on Saturday.

The festival is free to attend, but there will be great food available for purchase, along with many activities for children, free live music and the main event pro bike races. It all runs from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. We are expecting more than 2,500 out-of-town and out-of-state visitors to Noble Street and we hope that locals will turn out in big numbers, too.

The world will be watching because we show the bike races’ live video on the Internet all day, culminating with the main event pro men racing from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. We want the world to see thousands of Calhoun County folks along the race course supporting this event as the cameras catch all of the action. Three major national websites will carry the racing, as well as The Anniston Star’s website.

The weather looks great, with a sunny day and cooler temperatures when the final race starts after dark. Don’t let the chilly nighttime temps cause you to miss the last race and winner’s ceremony afterward. Bring a jacket and let’s show the world that we really are “Bike City.”
