JHS technology winners

For the second consecutive year, Jacksonville High School has earned first place at the Alabama State Technology competition held in Montgomery. JHS students placed in the top three in four of the six events entered.

Maria Trifas won first place in the Information Technology test category. Trifas and her teammates Cailley Blanks, Abbie Beatty and Tara Kittrell won second place for their video project “Be the Change.” Sara Lumpkin, Caitlin McDonald, Landon McFall, and Anna Pollard won third place for their Multimedia project, “Love Who You Are.” Kennedy Delap, Anna Elam and Xinyi Tang won third place for their video project, “The Grey World.”

The competition is sponsored by the Alabama Council for Technology in Education and is held annually at Auburn University in Montgomery. Students who placed in first or second place at the regional competition are eligible to participate.
