According to investigator Michael Webb, two cars, a Ford F-150 and a Dodge Avenger, were involved in a wreck approximately 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 4.
Webb said that while the Avenger was westbound on D Street and the F-150 was northbound on South Wilmer, the Avenger ran a stop sign and collided with the F-150.
Webb said both vehicles were totaled in the crash.
According to Webb, the 48-year-old driver of the F-150 and was injured in the accident and taken to Regional Medical Center for treatment. He suffered from whiplash and a cut on his scalp that required four staples.
One of the two men in the Avenger was also injured, but he did not go to the hospital, Webb said.
Webb said that after the crash, the driver of the Avenger got out of the car and walked away. The passenger told police that he did not know the driver and was only getting a ride from him, Webb said.
According to Webb, police had identified a suspect as of Friday morning. The suspect could face felony charges of leaving the scene of an accident, according to a police report.
