An Anniston man told police 14 guns were stolen when his home was broken into Thursday morning.

Anniston police Capt. Allen George said the 56-year-old man was away from his home on the first block of Pelham Heights Road between 8:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. when it was burglarized. Police believe the suspect may have entered the home through a rear window, George said.

The victim owned several rifles, shotguns and handguns that were stolen, the captain said. A police report valued the firearms at more than $8,000.

George said the suspect also took two televisions, $400 in loose change and 20 silver dollars.

Police had no suspects this morning, George said.

A suspect could be charged with felony second-degree burglary.
