Anniston Star - Great basketball tournament

Last week’s regional basketball tournament at Jacksonville State University was a tremendous boost for Calhoun County. I had the privilege of witnessing many exciting basketball games at the coliseum and was amazed by the turnout.

On Friday night, Top O’ the River in Anniston was filled with fans from Woodland High School, and on Saturday, Jacksonville’s Rocket Drive-In was overrun with fans from Holly Pond. Calhoun County certainly benefited economically, with the teams and fans staying in our motels and eating in our restaurants.

Hopefully, we will be able to continue hosting this event and events like it in Calhoun County.
