Police charged four Anniston men Thursday with assaulting another man at a local hospital.

Chevontae Jamal Johnson, 18; Patrick Dejuan Neal, 22; Trevontarious Deshawn Tucker, 18; and Justin Javarius Cleveland, 24, were charged with felony second-degree assault.

Anniston police Capt. Allen George said the assault occurred on the afternoon of June 27 at Regional Medical Center.

George said an RMC employee called police when she found four men beating up a 28-year-old man in the hospital’s lobby. The captain said the altercation began when the four men accused the victim of theft.

The suspects fled when hospital security arrived, George said.

The victim was treated at the hospital for several bruises and scrapes, George said, and has recovered from his injuries.

Police reviewed hospital security video and were able to identify the four men involved in the incident, George said.

Neal and Tucker were in Calhoun County Jail this morning. Cleveland and Johnson were released on $5,000 bonds each from Anniston City Jail on Thursday. Court appearances for all four men are scheduled for Aug. 5.
