Nine of the freddyJet’s dancers, all members of Jet Dance Company, spent a week in New York in June to attend technique classes, Broadway shows, tourist attractions, Gypsy buses, subway passes and many other adventures. The goal of the trip was to give the dancers a chance at seeing what it is like to live in New York. They attended a class at The Muse Aerial Workshop, directed by Angela Buccinii, a circus aerial artist who performed with Rani Welch (director of freddyJet) when Welch lived in New York. In addition to this workshop, the dancers met with some of Welch’s artists and friends from 20 years of living and working in the city.

The Jet Dance Company is a group of nine members, all of who had to audition with a one minute solo to gain their spot for the trip. The dancers sold candles, and other fundraisers to get the money needed for the trip.

Jet Dance Company members are Analeigh Adams, Helen Arnold, Abby Bunn, Maia Hamilton, Abigail Pratt, Lillie Mae Sherman, Hadley Smith and Addie and Shelby Ward. Some of the sponsors for this trip were Mimi and Poppi Miller, Butch and Penny Welch, Mondays Pest Control, Big Woodys Tires, Southern Star Motors, T&K Auto, The Peerless Grille, Alexandria Muffler, Buster Miles, Bobby Arnold, and many others. Visit www.freddyJet.com for more information on the dance company and this event.
