We had a great day in the Lord’s house Sunday! Wishing a very Happy 80th Birthday to C D East! Happy Birthday to Dewayne Snow and Jerry Burnell. Hope all grandparents had a great Grandparent’s Day!

Our fall revival services begin Sunday September 15.

Rev David Phillips, pastor of Amazing Grace Baptist Church will be our guest. Sunday night services begin at 6:00PM and Monday - Wednesday services begin at 6:30PM.

School time is back and we are getting back in the groove with our Mission groups on Wednesday night. We have GAs, Acteens and RAs beginning at 6:30PM. Don’t forget mission for Hearts this week is canned fruit.

Pastor Donald’s message came from Psalms 1:1 “The Righteous vs The Ungodly”. This chapter is only a short six verses but they pack a great message. “Blessed (Happy) is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly (wicked), nor stands in the path of sinners.” This wisdom psalm gives warning to the righteous or believer to be careful not to “walk beside”, stand with” or “sit beside” the ungodly or wicked. We are to be in the world but not of the world. You have heard this statement many times but have you ever taken time to really think about what it means? Believers are to delight in God’s law and meditate on it. If we do this we will be spiritually stronger and able to be unaffected by the world and worldly things. We are to be “like a tree planted by the rivers of water”. The stronger our roots the less likely we are to fall into worldly temptations. God says if we do these things we will prosper. No not necessarily financially but we will grow spiritually mature and more like Him.

On the other hand the picture for the ungodly in this Psalm is quite opposite! They do not have stability. When the Judgement comes they will not be able to stand alongside the righteous. They will perish.

On which side do you stand? It is your choice. Don’t wait until it is too late.
