The event was hosted by their children and their spouses: Kelly (Jessica) Morris of Heflin, and Kendra (Jonathan) Echols of Waco, TX. The couple also have their beautiful granddaughters, Abby and Hattie Grace Morris of Heflin and Hallie Shea Echols of Waco.

“Depression Ladies” birthday celebration

On Feb. 20 four ladies from northeastern Cleburne County were honored with a joint 80th birthday celebration. Fondly referred to as the “Depression Ladies”, all live in the area of Mt. Paran Baptist Church where the celebration was held. Friends and family of Mrs. Margaret Day, Mrs. Dorothy Hulsey, Mrs. Ruth Piper and Mrs. Laura Shierling joined together for a covered dish supper and the exchange of remembered experiences.
