Evie Heaton Crook

Funeral service for Evie Heaton Crook, 84, were September 7, 2008, at Lecta United Methodist Church in Heflin, with the Rev. T.J. Morgan officiating. Burial followed at Lecta Cemetery in Heflin.
Miss. Crook passed away Friday, September 5, 2008, at Trinity Medical Center. Survivors include sister, Mary Lena Truett, Heflin; niece, Ruth Truett, Birmingham; nephew; Ashley (Linda) Truett, Heflin; two great-nieces; Sherri Morgan and April Poling, of Heflin; great nephew; Mark Truett. Pallbearers were Tommy Morgan, Mark Truett, Ronnie Preston, Jimmy Ray Vinson, Bob Young, Ray Banks. Miss. Crook was employed with the State of Alabama as Administrator. Miss. Crook was a native of Cleburne County and a resident of Birmingham for many years. She was a graduate of Ranburne High School, Sneed Junior College, The Montavello College for Women and Louisiana State University School as a Social Work. She began her work with the Department of Pension and Security in Gadsden. She was the Director of the County Department in Anniston and Bibb County and concluded her career as Director of the Food Stamp Program in Jefferson County. She was a member of Irondale United Methodist Church.
