Bobby F. Johnson, 73, died Monday, March 3, 2008 at his residence in Heflin. Funeral services for Mr. Johnson were held March 5 at Dryden Funeral Home Chapel with Dewayne Palmer and Cloyse Johnson officiating. Pallbearers were Cecil Vaughn, Joe Charles, Charles Blanton, Larry White, David Johnson, Wayne Crawford, Tony Johnson and Keith Turner. Survivors include his wife, Sue Johnson, of Heflin; numerous nieces and nephews; and numerous great-nieces and nephews. Mr. Johnson was born June 16, 1934 in Heflin. He graduated from Cleburne County High School in 1953. He was also a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in New Haven, Conn. with an associates degree in Culinary Arts. He was an instructor at the Culinary Institute, Hyde Park, New York. Mr. Johnson was a member of the American Culinary Federation and of the Academy of Chefs. He was the founder and president of Southern Alleghenies Chefs Association. He was the Executive Chef at Guyan Golf and Country Club in Huntington, W.Va., Point-O-Woods Country Club in Fire Island, N.Y., and Sheraton Inn in Altoona, Pa. Mr. Johnson was the youngest of 10 children and was preceded in death by his parents, Ada and Fred Johnson. He served in the U.S. Army for two years and was an avid motorcyclist and HOG member. Mr. Johnson was married to his wife, Sue Johnson for 53 years. In lieu flowers, donations may be made to The Hope Lodge in Birmingham, Ala.
