Joseph Robert Lee Angel, 78, passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at his residence. Funeral services were held February 29, 2008, at Dryden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ronald Williams and the Rev. Arlon Ashley officiating. Burial followed at Heflin City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Mark Maner, Neil Bright, Danny Wilson, David Wilson, Bart Howell, and Jason Maner. Survivors include his wife, Gail Angel, of Heflin; sister-in-law, Sarah Angel, of Iron City; nieces; and nephews. Mr. Angel was a native of St. Clair County and a resident of Cleburne County for most of his life. He was a retired minister, master carpenter, a professional baseball player and little league baseball coach in Heflin for several years. He was a member of the Edwardsville Church of God.
