Services for Virgil Coffey, 74, of Fruithurst were held Feb. 6 at Upper Cane Creek Church with the Rev. Anthony Harrell officiating. Music was provided by Pine Grove Baptist Church. Burial followed in the Upper Cane Creek Cemetery. Mr. Coffey died Feb. 2. He was born November 13, 1933, in Fruithrust to the late Alta and Ada Holley Coffey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Betty Nolen and brother Lewis Coffey. Mr. Coffey was a vegetable farmer. Survivors include his daughters and son-in-law, Annett Coffey of Scottsdale, AZ., Marlena Howerton of Frankston , TX. And Marie and Louis Hunt of Austin, TX.; sons and daughter-in-law, Jerome and Betty Coffey of Fruithurst, Richard and Lisa Coffey, Carl Coffey, and Barry Coffey, al of Lindale, TX, Keith Coffey of Austin, TX and Michael Coffey of Troup TX; eight grandchildren, sisters, Bertha Boozer of Heflin and brothers and sister-in-law, Leon and Joyce Coffey of Heflin and Dewayne Coffey of Delta.
