Fatal wreck shuts down I-20

A fatal two-vehicle wreck on I-20 Sunday afternoon shut down all west-bound lanes of the freeway for several hours with traffic diverted to U.S. 78 according to Alabama State Troopers. A spokeswoman at the Jacksonville trooper post said a passenger car and an SUV were involved in the wreck, which occurred near the 205 exit, east of Heflin. The driver of one vehicle and a passenger in the second vehicle were killed and the driver of the second vehicle was injured, the spokeswoman said.
