I Told You First Some very important people are celebrating a birthday this week. Read the list and see for yourself! Feb. 28 – Jerry Carlton, Donny Gaines, Jerray Wilson, Amber Payne, Chris Cavender, Susan Feazell, Shelia Berry, Delaine Prichard, Heath Hembree, Peggy Luke, and Paisley Parton. Feb. 29 – Terry Elkins. Mar. 1 – Owen Yarbrough, Angie Thompson, Doyce Camp, Brooklyn Herren, Joyce Dryden, Wayne Hodge, Eddie Coefield, Staff Seargeant Nickie Watson (23 years old), Robby Robinson, Carolyn Martin, Johnny Shelton, Jerica Cobb and Yours Truly. Mar. 2 – Cora Beason (Please see article in this column about Cora's celebration), Mary Heard, Audray Turner, Dorothy Ervin, Mary Celeste Ervin, Matthew Allen and Justin Bradley. Mar. 3 – Montana Dakota Parris, Kenzie Cash and Mike Waldrep. Mar. 4 – Jonathan Williams, Rosa Wright, Shelia Laminack, Jim McIntrye, Jessica Brown, Brandon Burgess, Linda Yates, Cheyenne Payne and Fannie Baber Howle who will celebrate her 90th birthday! Three cheers for her! Mar. 5 – Mark Berry, Kenneth Lee, Billy Wayne Pate, Ed Freeman and Mary Smith. Two's Company Only two couples were turned in to me for an anniversary this week, but that's alright! They are two exceptional duos who are really in LOVE! Feb. 29 – Ricky and Tina Jackson (20 Super Years). Mar. 1 – Ed and Ollie Freeman. Sunshine List Peyton Toney's Mom has asked that he be removed from the SS List! He is doing much better and we are happy for that fact! She thanks everyone for their prayers and concern! These friends need to be lifted up! You Are All Invited Susan Beason Brimer is so delighted to host a 90th birthday celebration for her Mom, Cora Beason. This event will be March 2 at the Heflin Recreation Center from 2-4 p.m. She hopes that all of Cora's friends will come visit during those hours and bring your BEST memories of your friendship with Cora! Family Pride Proud parents, Tammy and Terry Watson wanted to share some good news with you all concerning their son Nickie. He graduated from officer training school as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force on February 7. The next big event in his life will be his marriage to Heather Thompson in Great Falls, Montana this July. Did You Know? Now that we are in full swing with Presidential Politics, here a few true, interesting but totally useless facts! 1. Lyndon Johnson was the first President to wear contact lenses. 2. Theodore Roosevelt died of an infected tooth. 3. President William Howard Taft started a sports tradition by throwing out the first ball of the major league baseball season. It was April 14, 1910. The game was between Washington and Philadelphia and Washington won 3-0. Now you know. Bye! Until next week ... remember ...
