Heflin Highlights

Don't You
Love It?

Once again, my apologies to a little fellow who had a birthday a couple of weeks ago and it were unintentionally left out of my column. It was his first birthday and that is too important to leave out. Yes, a young man named Lucas Andrew celebrated his big day on January 29. Oh yes, his last name is PAYNE. He is my precious grandson! (When it comes to omitting, I am non-discriminating).
Here is a big group of celebrants who will certainly not be overlooked!
Feb. 14 – Cindy Templeton, Sandy Weston, Chris Bourg, Dallas Jane Parris, and Kinsley Humphries. Feb. 15 – Jeff Waldrop, Sybile Vandervelde, Jane Harlan, Mason McClean, Megan Brown, Iva Dell Johnson and Annie Holmes. Feb. 16 – Zach Gossage and Amber Hamm. Feb. 17 – John Parris and Danny Spradlin. Feb. 18 – Donna Taylor, Amanda Benefield, Lee Wright, Margaret Taylor and Misty Folds. Feb. 19 – Linda Hanvey, Neil Burk and Teresa Vise. Feb. 20 – Bill Krause, Bennie Brimer and Lexie Thomas.

Valentine's Everywhere

How perfect is this week to have an anniversary? Sweethearts abound!
Feb. 14 – R.T. and Jane Thompson ... Gary and Minnanett Warren ... Joel and Brenda Robinson. Feb. 15 – Johnny and Iris Kent. Feb. 17 – Barry and Lisa Kellum ... Danny and Judy Spradlin. Feb. 19 – Donald and Kathy Ashley.

Sunshine List

My dear friend, Rev. Phil Morris, has given me some good news! (Is that not what a minister is supposed to do?) This good news concerns his adorable grandson, Parker Lanning. this little fellow had surgery awhile back and was a part of our Sunshine List. Phil told me that Park is not doing great and we can remove his name. Good news! Parker's other grandfather, Thomas Lanning, has been hospitalized in Bremen. Lift him up with your prayers.
Another good friend, Rhonda McKenzie Burris, has given me MORE great news and it is about HER newest grand blessing, Daniel Childes. Daniel spend the first several months of his life in the hospital, but he's now been able to go home to join his amazing family. I have seen pictures, folks, and I am telling you he is a doll!
Continue to remember these two young men and their families.
Here are others who need our concern and prayers:
Sandra Hale, Peyton Toney, Walter Ader, Chuck Sullivan, Kory Nunnally, Cordia Robinson, Kathryn Fry, Andrew McCormick, Myrtle Barber, Cloyce Knowles, Carl Price, Terri Cates, Lucas Owen, Jack Wilkes, Mildred Bragg and Erin Clardy (grandaughter of Karen Crumpton Lowman).

Ring A Ding!

I know for sure that Rev. Phil Morris reads my column. After he told me the good news concerning his grandson, he commented on my "pet peeves" from last week! He said that he agreed with me totally about the rudeness of people talking on cell phones at the movies. "The only thing worse," he said, "is having a cell phone ring during a church service!" One minster commented (when that very thing happened during his sermon) ... That had better be God!"

Blessing In Blue

Speaking of God! That is just who Ronnie and Denised Hardeman are thanking for their latest "grand" bundle of joy!
Their daughter, Meredith and her husband, Michael Payne of Jacksonville are proud to welcome into their lives, Ellis Linzy Payne! He was born on January 9th weighing seven pounds and 11 ounces. To quote the grandmother ... "He is perfect!"
Ellis was welcomed by all members of his family and I understand that they stand in line to be able to cuddle and rock him.
Congratulations to the whole family and a big welcome to Ellis!

Do Not Miss

The play, Dearly Departed, will continue it's run on February 14th, 15th, 16th and 17th at the JSU/McClellan Theatre. If you want to forget your troubles for about two hours and excersise your laugh muscles, this event is for you! Tickets may be purchased at Crow Drugs, Golden Springs Pharmacy, Noble Bank, of F.M. Bank. They may also be purchased at the door or call 820-2278. You can leave a message to have tickets held for you.

Bye!

Until next week ... remember ... You are probably an Old Timer if you can remember when couples got on the dance floor and actually danced together!
