Cleburne Middle School gives 4-H reports for the year

(Continued from last week) Dylan Feazell, Reporter Ms. Hand Sweet, today was our first day in 4-H and to start things off we elected officers, filled out enrolment forms and all the other good stuff. After a quick getting use to things, we called our meeting to order. We were happy to sing “The Star-Spangled Banner,” recite our pledge to the flag and say our 4-H pledge, as well as call role and talk about new fun stuff coming soon. For example, the photography contest, cooking contest and more. We then played a game that taught us how to use money wisely. It was a fun game and as soon as it was over, we left the meeting! Election of new officers, Mrs. Hand’s class: President-Cassidy Bolt; Vice president-Leslie Gray; Secretary-Emily Jeffers; Reporter-Dylan Feazell. Songleaders are Alexis Brown and Brady Christopher. Mrs. Mathews told us about new contests coming up. Lem Davis will be visiting from the Toastmasters Club. Photography 4-H and Chef 4-H. Our program for the day is The Allowance Game. She talked about why she gave us 20 black-eyed peas. She gave us a form where we could buy items with our peas. Daniel Robinson Mr. Lambert The gavel comes down as we start a great 4-H meeting, then we have a song, “Old MacDonald,” an old playful classic. Tthen we pledge to the Country and 4-H, taking roll while people suggest ideas. We announced unfinished business, we talk about enrolment forms and new activities available. We play an “Allowance Game,” and talk about borrowing. The Allowance Game teaches the class about saving your money and using it in moderation. We adjourned the meeting with ten thousand, “Is our next meeting in March?”
